Not so.Good luck trying to get through to Samsung's "Executive Customer Relations" department to which they transfer you when you wish to dispute having to mail your whopping TV to New Jersey. I finally found an alternative number to this ironically labeled "executive" service department by Googling it and actually got to talk to a person after waiting for about 30 min. Well, that happens - but the truly regrettable part is Samsung's customer service, which as it turns out requires any TV under 26 inches to be shipped to New Jersey for repairs.
When you are told that they will call you back in "24 to 48 hours," you are probably being misled. Unfortunately, this person also told me to ship my whopping TV to New Jersey and her manager was not available to be spoken to. Those calls never happened in my case.
I liked this TV quite well until it abruptly broke after about four months very moderate usage (aggressive horizontal flickering transitioning into complete whiteout). Call reps managers are also not available to be spoken to and emails are never responded to. So, if you need a TV that works for more than four months and/or don't live in New Jersey, this is probably not the TV for you.
I would like to add that I live in the Chicago vicinity, which by most accounts would be considered a major metropolitan area that you might think would be supported by a technician or two. The lines are always busy and you will be on hold until you are told that your call could not be connected and that it will now be ended - "Goodbye".
I am currently using it for my PS3 and as a monitor for my laptop. I got a used (like new) and saved a lot. This TV is great for college students esp living in dorms. I bought it two months ago. No complaints about it so far.
This tv stinks-- wont sit right in standyou cant angle itblacks are graysound leveler does NOTHINGHD looks regular defshiny sides reflect and looks bad, also reflects line on top of screenshiny remote flashes what ever hits itIn HD mode you cant see dvd player graphics, you need to switch to av1 mode and then its very very dark so yo uhave to switch back.
The screen tilts upward and is not good when mounted above eye level, as our is. The image is not sharp unless you are looking at the screen directly and from about six feet or more. It also tends to lose the signal and black out momentarily. We own three other Samsung LCD TVs and love them. This one, which we use in our kitchen, has been a disappointment.
We're very satisfied with this TV - it's just the right size for the viewing area and the picture is clear and the controls easy to use.
